KT-Box News and Updates
The KT-Box project is a £2.2 million project funded by the UK's Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council. Six Universities - Bath, Cambridge, Cranfield, Exeter, Nottingham, Warwick - are working together with BAE Systems, Bombardier, IBM and Rolls Royce to develop practical tools and techniques to support organisations in the design, delivery and deployment of industrial services. Drawing on recent research the University teams are creating new and innovative practical tools for firms to apply. The programme is managed by Cambridge University, under the leadership of Professor Andy Neely and the chairmanship of Paul Tasker. Programme management is provided by Chris Pearson. Through-Life Service Inforamtion – The University of Cambridge
The University of Cambridge is currently developing five KT-Box tools in the areas of Operations management, Technology management, Information systems, Capability Assessment, Network Integration and Design. Total Obsolescence Management Capability Assessment Tool – Cranfield University
Cranfield University has developed a tool called TOMCAT, Total Obsolescence Management Capability Assessment Tool in order to develop a set of metrics to assess the capability of suppliers in Obsolescence Management. [more]
KT-Box Tools – University of Warwick
Two tools are being developed by the University of Warwick; the Co-Creation Capability Assessment Tool (CCAT) and the Service Transformation Toolkit (STT), which help identify and improve an organisations ability to deliver. [more]
Managerial Mindsets Partnership Development Tool – University of Exeter
Building innovative and resilient partnerships - The Centre for Leadership Studies (CLS) in the University of Exeter Business School is co-developing a tool with the Environment Agency, targeted specifically at building capacity within cross sector partnerships. [more]
Predictive Maintenance Tools – DA-CMT, Shrivenham
Cranfield University researchers at the Defence Academy’s College of Management and Technology (DA-CMT) have 4 tools in preparation as part of the KT-Box project, which enhance operational availability and system effectiveness through the use of Health & Usage Monitoring Systems (HUMS). [more]
Social Housing Planning and Maintenance – University of Bath
University of Bath has been working with Housing Associations in Wales to improve maintenance performance of social housing. For the last two weeks United Welsh Housing has been testing the implications of new ways of planning and executing the maintenance of social housing estates developed in partnership with the KT Box programme.
